Since resuming blogging I have become increasingly frustrated by Suffolk County Council’s website where much information is published. More of that later, but the brightest spot I have found so far in the council’s web use is the trading standards department.
It has its pages on the council’s central website but is doing more: they seem to be web savvy.
There is a blog, which is simple, well-written and informative — the latest post is about the digital switch-over of TV. They are also using Facebook and twitter, suggesting they have grasped the importance of using social media.
It is also low-cost. The blog is at wordpress.com where anyone can sign up for a free blog. Twiitter and Facebook are also free. Obviously, someone has to look after this use of social media but the cost must be small.
