Brighton now has two free morning papers wrestling for the attention of commuters. Argus Lite (an early edition of the town’s evening title) has been available in the railway station approaches from 6.30am since February.
Metro Brighton, launched yesterday morning at 6am, is an edition of the London Metro. The new edition is the product of a deal between Metro and local publisher Medialab who will be the south coast publisher and sell regional advertising, Hold the Front Page reports.
The Brighton edition is being distributed around stations and on buses in Brighton and surrounding towns including Haywards Heath, Worthing and Lewis.
I wonder if this is a pattern which is going to be repeated around London’s commuter ring? And will other publisher join the fray?
